Opening hours: Saturday, 12:00-14:00

Location: The Parish hall, adjacent to the church.

Our food bank is primarily a distribution centre for Hillingdon Foodbank, which is itself part of a larger, nationwide network of food banks. We distribute a week's worth of essentials to individuals and families in an emergency situation, such as catastrophic illness or unemployment.

In addition, we partner with FareShare to distribute fresh food from major food retailers that would otherwise go to waste. We can also provide smaller parcels of food and essentials (such as toiletries or long-life milk) to those struggling to make ends meet.

To avoid long queues, we run an appointment system at our centre. To make an appointment, call or text 07563 775 777 or email foodbank@svpsouthruislip.org.uk.

Reverse Advent Calendar

For Advent this year, we're doing what's called a Reverse Advent Calendar. Instead of a receiving calendar, this is a giving calendar. We're asking families to set aside a small, empty box and add items to it during Advent. Near the end of the season (our last session before Christmas will be Dec. 20) bring your (now full) box to the parish hall for distribution from our food bank. This might be a fun activity to do with children -- in addition to the normal, chocolate-focused receiving calendar, of course!

A Christmas tree with baubles, each displaying an item that the food bank needs.
